
FREE Community Swim Lessons
The Y wants to ensure all families are ready for a fun and safe summer. To do that, we're helping families become "Water-Ready" by developing water safety skills that help reduce the risk of drowning and build confidence and competence in and around water.
Participants will learn water safety and basic swim strokes. Parents can choose from Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced swim levels.
WHEN: 4-week-long sessions are offered at two time slots: 4:00pm-4:30pm or 4:40pm-5:10pm
- Session 1: June 1 - June 24, Mon/Wed
- Session 2: June 2 - June 25, Tues/Thurs
- Session 3: July 7 - July 30, Tues/Thurs
WHO: Children 3-18 years old who meet one or more of the following criteria, as required by our grant funding:
- Child is covered by KanCare health insurance
- Child is in foster care or grandparent custody.
- Child is eligible for YMCA Financial Assistance program.
- Child has free or reduced meals through the school district.
- Referral by local partner/school/community group or service organization.
