FUELING OUR COMMUNITY'S KIDS
The Child Nutrition Department at the Salina Family YMCA serves healthy meals and snacks to children, partnering with federal programs, volunteers and businesses throughout the year to achieve better health for our community.
Through the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and Summer Food Serve Program, we receive a reimbursement for healthful meals and snacks served to children. Because CACFP/SFSP participants’ nutritional needs are supported on a daily basis, the program plays a vital role in improving the quality of daycare and making it more affordable for families.
CACFP also provides support for our Early Learning Centers and Afterschool programs. During the summer months, SFSP supports our Y's Kids Summer Camp, other camps in the area, and additional students ages 1-18 through our Grab N Go Food Program.
