Grab N’ Go is back for Summer 2026!
Free summer meals for kids and teens, ages 1–18
The YMCA is excited to once again offer Grab N’ Go meals through the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). This program is open to children ages 1-18 who do not receive meals from other SFSP sites, including Y Kids, Early Learning Centers, and other community programs (such as Castle, Fieldhouse, Boys and Girls Club, summer school, library, etc.). Ask about Weekend Bags!
How It Works
- Each Grab N’ Go bag includes 5 breakfasts and 5 suppers for Saturday through Wednesday.
- Meals are picked up weekly on Fridays from 4:00pm–6:00pm (or until we run out).
- Families must register weekly. This helps you know if you’ll receive food and reduces wait times.
- Meals are provided in Grab N’ Go style bags for take-home use.
- Meals must be picked up by a parent or guardian if not being picked up by the child themselves.
- If your child receives meals from another SFSP site (such as summer school), they are not eligible to pick up from YMCA Grab N' Go that same week.
- NEW! Weekend Bags available at the YMCA for Y Kids and Early Learning Centers, as well as at Castle, Fieldhouse, and Boys and Girls Club for registered weekly participants.
Pick-Up Details (Salina Location)
- Pick-Up Location: Parking lot between 1512 Rush St. and 1600 Rush St. (Enter from Republic Street through Sunset Park. Look for the YMCA flags!)
- Pick-Up Day/Time: Fridays, 4:00pm–6:00pm
- At 5:30pm, any remaining bags will be distributed to families not on the list, while supplies last.

- Last pick-up: Friday, August 7
How to Sign Up
- Weekly registration opens each Monday for the following week’s pick-up. (For instance, sign up begins May 18 for the pick-up on Friday, May 22.)
- Each child must be registered individually.
- When carpooling, a parent/guardian or child must be present for each family represented.
- You’ll be asked for additional info this year to help meet state guidelines.
- Federal guidelines allow children to receive no more than 2 meals/snacks per day from SFSP sites.
